Ayurvedic Men’s Health & Fertility Program at Elephant Pass
Our Men’s Health & Fertility Program is for men who feel drained, overworked, or “not like themselves” physically or sexually, and who want to rebuild energy, sexual vitality, and reproductive health in a discreet Ayurvedic retreat setting in Kerala.
In Ayurveda, male vitality and fertility are governed by Shukra dhatu (the reproductive tissue) and Ojas (vital essence), both of which can be depleted by chronic stress, overwork, poor sleep, unhealthy habits, and unresolved illnesses. Our program focuses on nourishing these deeper tissues, calming Vata and Pitta, and re‑establishing a steady foundation of strength.
This program is suitable as supportive care for:
What This Program Addresses
Low energy and early burnout – tiredness, lack of drive, feeling “worn out” before your age.
High stress and poor sleep – long hours, mental overload, rest that does not feel restorative.
Mild sexual performance concerns – reduced desire, mild erectile difficulty, premature fatigue (not sudden severe dysfunction needing urgent evaluation).
Male fertility support – low or borderline sperm count, motility or quality (as supportive care), after appropriate medical workup.
It is not designed as stand‑alone treatment for serious urological or endocrine disease; those require an andrologist/urologist or endocrinologist.
Ayurvedic View of Men’s Health & Fertility
Ayurveda links overall male health to:
Shukra dhatu – the most refined reproductive tissue responsible for semen quality, sperm count, motility, and reproductive capacity.
Ojas – the subtle essence of all tissues, associated with immunity, resilience, mental clarity, and deep vitality.
Vata and Pitta balance – Vata governs nervous system, movement, and ejaculation; Pitta governs hormones, metabolism, and heat in reproductive organs.
When digestion (agni) is weak, lifestyle is erratic, and stress is high:
Shukra dhatu may be depleted (Shukra Kshaya / Shukra Dushti), leading to low sperm parameters, fatigue, and reduced libido.
Ojas may be lowered, showing as early aging, low immunity, and emotional instability.
Vata and Pitta disturbances can contribute to sexual dysfunctions such as premature ejaculation, erectile difficulty, and performance anxiety—traditionally discussed under Vajikarana / Klaibya.
Ayurvedic men’s health is therefore built on:
Cleansing where needed,
Rejuvenation (Rasayana, Vajikarana), and
Lifestyle/work–rest balance.
Stay & Facilities
Ayurvedic Approaches in the Men’s Health & Fertility Program
Your program is designed privately with the Ayurvedic doctor and may include:
1. Rasayana (Rejuvenative) Diet and Herbs
A nourishing yet light diet that supports digestion and builds high‑quality Shukra and Ojas—good proteins, healthy fats, and plant foods tailored to your doshas.
Rasayana and Vajikarana herbs/formulations traditionally used for male vitality and fertility, such as:
Ashwagandha, Shilajit, Safed Musli, Gokshura, Kaunch Beej and others that modern reviews link with improved sperm parameters, testosterone, and stamina.
Classical Vajikarana/Rasayana preparations documented for oligospermia and sperm quality, given after appropriate evaluation.
These are prescribed individually; we do not push any over‑the‑counter products.
2. Stress Relief and Routine Resets
Abhyanga (oil massage), Shirodhara, and relaxation therapies to calm the nervous system, improve sleep, and reduce stress‑driven hormonal disruption.
A steady daily routine (Dinacharya) to stabilise Vata—fixed wake/sleep times, regular meals, and balanced work–rest rhythm.

Ayurvedic Treatments Used in This Program
3. Panchakarma Support (When Indicated)
For appropriate guests, gentle Panchakarma (e.g., Virechana, Basti) may be used to clear ama and reset metabolism before starting deeper Rasayana.
Cleansing followed by Rasayana is a classic pattern when aiming to enhance Shukra dhatu and Ojas.
4. Strength‑Building Yoga and Pranayama
Yoga practices oriented toward:
Core and lower‑back strength,
Pelvic stability and circulation, and
Postural improvement to reduce fatigue.
Pranayama and meditation to manage performance anxiety, overthinking, and stress, which are major contributors to both fatigue and sexual issues.
Stay & Facilities
Expected Changes
Men who engage fully with this program and follow post‑retreat advice often report:
Improved overall vitality – more steady energy, less burnout, better stamina.
Better sleep and mood, with greater resilience to stress.
A more positive sense of masculinity and confidence in their body.
In fertility‑focused cases, gradual improvements in semen parameters and sexual wellbeing when combined with medical follow‑up (as some Rasayana/Vajikarana protocols and case studies suggest).
Timeframes vary; building Shukra dhatu and Ojas is typically a medium‑ to long‑term process, not an overnight change.
Suitability & Limits
Suitable For
Men with low energy, early burnout, or chronic stress.
Mild to moderate sexual performance concerns (reduced desire, mild ED, premature fatigue) where serious disease has been ruled out or is medically managed.
Couples with unexplained or mild male‑factor infertility who have done basic andrology testing and want holistic support (not a replacement for assisted reproduction when needed).
Not a Replacement For
Full evaluation and treatment by an andrologist/urologist or endocrinologist when needed (e.g., severe ED, hormonal disorders, testicular pathology, varicocele surgery decisions).
Assisted reproductive techniques where structurally indicated.
Our role is to support and enhance underlying health and reproductive potential, alongside proper medical workup.
The Riverside Environment
How Elephant Pass Supports Men’s Health
At Elephant Pass Ayurveda & Yoga Retreat, you receive support that is both clinical and discreet:
Doctor‑led, confidential consultations where you can openly discuss energy, libido, fertility reports, and relationship context without judgement.
A quiet riverside environment away from daily pressures, screens, and constant demands—making it easier for nervous system and hormones to recalibrate.
If you offer it, partner stays can be arranged, allowing couples to work on fertility and relationship health together through shared routines, yoga, and stress‑care.
The focus is on rebuilding deep strength, not just chasing short‑term stimulation.
MEN'S HEALTH FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Ayurveda help with fertility?
Ayurveda has a long tradition of working with male infertility under Shukra dhatu and Vajikarana, focusing on:
Improving sperm count, motility, and quality.
Correcting dosha and agni imbalances.
Supporting libido, mood, and overall strength.
Modern case studies and reviews show that integrated Ayurvedic protocols (cleansing + Rasayana) can improve semen parameters in some men with oligospermia or sperm DNA issues, especially when combined with lifestyle change.
However, outcomes vary; Ayurveda should be seen as deep support for fertility, not a guaranteed solution in every case.
Will this fix erectile dysfunction?
Ayurveda addresses erectile dysfunction (ED) through Vajikarana therapy, which combines herbs, diet, detox, stress management, and pelvic‑focused treatments.
If your ED is mild and mainly related to stress, fatigue, or lifestyle, Ayurveda often helps by improving energy, calming anxiety, and enhancing circulation.
If ED is due to serious vascular, neurological, endocrine, or medication‑related issues, you still need evaluation by an appropriate specialist; Ayurveda can then play a supportive role but may not “fix” the root cause alone.
In all cases, any changes to prescribed ED medications must be discussed with your doctor.
How long should I stay for men’s health and fertility support?
For meaningful results, we usually recommend at least 10–14 days, and for fertility‑focused work, 21+ days is often ideal, especially when Rasayana phases are included.
Shorter stays can help you reset stress, sleep, and routine, and create a plan.
Deeper reproductive changes typically require ongoing application over several months once you return home.
Is this program confidential?
Yes. All consultations and treatment plans are confidential, and sensitive topics like sexual function and fertility are handled with respect and discretion.
Records are kept private within the medical team.
If you come with a partner, we can discuss what is shared jointly vs. individually, based on your consent.
Do I need tests before joining the fertility‑support side of the program?
It is strongly recommended that you bring:
A recent semen analysis (showing count, motility, morphology, DNA fragmentation if done).
Any hormone tests (testosterone, FSH, LH, prolactin, thyroid) and relevant imaging or specialist reports.
This allows our Ayurvedic doctor to:
Understand the extent and nature of the issue.
Coordinate realistic expectations and complementary care with your existing medical team.
Start with a Free Ayurvedic Doctor Consultation
If you’re feeling depleted, stressed, or concerned about your sexual vitality or fertility, and want to explore a holistic Ayurvedic path, start with a free Ayurvedic doctor consultation.
Our doctor will discuss your energy, sleep, sexual and reproductive history, and any existing test results, then suggest a discreet, personalised Men’s Health & Fertility retreat plan that supports you alongside your andrologist or urologist.

Posted on Robert MVerified Elephant Pass Ayurvida and Yoga Centre Elephant Pass Ayurvida and Yoga Retreat is a calm, relaxed resort in a beautiful setting. Don't expect to see any elephants, they're a little further up the road. The staff were very helpful. My friend and I stayed for two nights (we were in transit at the time) and practiced Yoga in the morning and also took on a relaxing full body massage. The rooms are basic but adequate. As hungry cyclists we would have preferred more food options with the meals (don't expect a full on buffet) but the staff did make an effort to supply some addional requested items for our dietary needs. We booked late and all in all this was a nice quiet unfussed place to stay with beautiful sunsets thrown in too.Posted on Dasha - Sun of BeachVerified A place with a Soul My stay at Elephant Pass was a very calm and grounding experience. Life here follows a natural and gentle daily rhythm that quickly feels comfortable. The position of the building itself is just perfect: while it is hot, there is a natural shadow and you can stay freely out of your room. At the same time you can e joy both - the morning and the afternoon sun for sunbathing. In the morning wake up to birds singing, with no traffic or noise, only greenery and the river nearby. The day starts with morning yoga. The teacher is very well educated, with a strong theoretical background, and always available for questions. She explains the body, breathing and yoga principles in a clear and thoughtful way, which adds a lot of depth to the practice. After yoga, there is time for a short walk through the nearby village. The local people are kind, open and welcoming. Bringing small gifts or treats from your home country is a lovely idea and is always appreciated. Breakfast is served either indoors or in a gazebo by the river. You can quietly watch birds flying and singing while enjoying freshly prepared Ayurvedic food. The meals are simple, traditional and extremely fresh. Everything feels clean, safe and nourishing. As a sophisticated traveller I can confirm that. Later in the morning, the first treatment takes place. The therapist is gentle, attentive and professional, and the sessions are relaxing and comfortable. After some rest, lunch is served, followed by a second treatment later in the afternoon. In the evening, yoga focuses on relaxation, breathing and meditation. After dinner, the day naturally slows down, and you go to sleep early, falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of nature. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable. Air conditioning works perfectly, and there is always hot water with good water pressure. Every evening, the entire property is gently fumigated with natural herbs, which keeps insects away. This makes outdoor dining comfortable, and during my ten-day stay I did not see a single insect in my room. The location is also convenient. The retreat is not far from the airport (Cochin) and the transfer is easy and not tiring. I truly believe this place has a soul. And its soul is the people who work here! Their warmth, care and presence are what make Elephant Pass a special and meaningful place to stay.Posted on pammiewallisVerified A great experience Staying at the elephant pass resort was an unforgettable experience Accommodation food treatments and professional people quite amazing. The location is absolutely stunning, set along the Periyar River, and offers a truly peaceful and serene atmosphere. The resort grounds are beautifully maintained and enhance the sense of calm throughout the property. What truly made my experience special was the staff. Everyone was exceptionally kind, friendly, and welcoming, and they went out of their way to make my stay memorable. I felt deeply relaxed and rejuvenated after my Ayurvedic treatments, and I appreciated that the doctor checked in on me almost every day. The food was another highlight—delicious, varied, and full of wonderful local flavors. While the rooms could benefit from some modernization, the overall experience more than made up for it. I would definitely recommend Elephant Pass for the warmth of the staff, the quality of the food, and the overall sense of care and tranquility.Posted on Hassan AVerified Posted on Susanne KVerified Wonderful Ayurveda & Yoga experience at Elephant Pass Resort We had 11 days at Elephant Pass next to the holy river Peribavour with daily Ayurvedic treatments, massage and yoga morning and night. I had the pleasure of staying at this Resort which I had originally planned to stay at for five days but ended up extending for two weeks. The location of the Resort is right beside the beautiful river which every afternoon you can see the most exquisite sunsets. It’s quite relaxed and if you’re looking for a place that is amongst nature like I was this is the place to be. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you. They even hosted a cooking class and took us on day trips as well. I took a full board package while I was staying there and the food was absolutely delicious and also they gave a large variety of different dishes. The only downside to this place would be that the Wi-Fi was very slow so maybe keep that in mind if that is something that’s really important to you. But in all it is a fantastic place to stay.Posted on Julie HolmesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We stayed for 17 nights. We signed up for the rejuvenating package of two daily treatments. All meals and herbal drinks. On site doctors visits. Two sessions of daily yoga and meditation. We enjoyed the food. The team led by Thomas are great, nothing is too much trouble. My therapist Nimisha was gentle and professional. Dr Sara helped to calm my anxious husband. When we arrived we were stressed from a difficult year having moved house. After a week our health mentally and physically improved. We met lovely people and we felt part of a warm caring family. We loved the river and peaceful surroundings, where the many birds came, the fish jumped and the locals fished and bathed in the holy Perivar river. We really slowed down. We had a cookery demonstration a typical buffet meal served on a palm leaf. We also had a couple of trips to St Thomas Church, a temple in the forest and a longer road trip to Fort Cochin. We would thoroughly recommend this place to restore peace and vitality into your life. My skin, hair and nails are glowing first time in ages. My husband seems calmer and healthier. He celebrated his 76 th birthday and we had a lovely cake and small party. A big thanks to Thomas the manager for sorting out everything. Dr Sara for starting and monitoring our health. Dr Archanaraj for the yoga particularly the breathing exercises. Saneesh for the delicious food. Saratha for the gentle service. Pushottsma for his maintenance. Nimisha for my treatments, Shinto for collecting flowers and administering my husband’s treatments. Vishnu for accompanying us out to the bank. The owners for a their attention.Posted on Pammie WallisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had the great pleasure of staying at elephant pass resort.
